About Kickin' Boots

Kickin' Boots is a curated online store for Estonian-made footwear. Our boot collection is built by Samelin, an 80-year-old factory in Tartu that holds NATO AQAP 2110 certification. Our sandals are handmade by OmaKing and TOKU, also in Estonia. Every product we sell is made in the EU, by makers we know by name.

The makers

Samelin — our boot supplier. The factory at Kastani 48, Tartu has been producing leather footwear for over eight decades. Originally a 1945 merger of four Tartu firms, it became RAS ELKAR during the Soviet period and was incorporated as Samelin AS by its own employees on 7 February 1994. The factory holds NATO AQAP 2110 certification, ISO 9001:2015 quality-management certification, and ISO 14001:2015 environmental certification. It has historically supplied European defence forces and contract-manufactured for international brands.

OmaKing & TOKU — Estonian sandal makers. Hand-cut, hand-finished leather sandals from local workshops.

Kira Sustainable — Chelsea boots from a sustainability-focused EU maker.

What we do

We are not the factories. We are a storefront that lets these makers' products reach customers directly, online, in EU and US markets. Our role is the website, the product photography, the customer service, the shipping coordination, and the brand-side communication. The footwear itself — design, manufacture, quality control — comes from the makers we work with.

Why this exists

Most "tactical" or "heritage" boot brands sold online source from Asian factories under European-sounding names. Samelin is the opposite — a factory making boots in Europe under Estonian ownership, supplying real European institutions, with a quality certification that means something. The sandal makers we work with are similar: small, local, transparent. We believed there was a gap between these makers and the customer, and built this storefront to close it.
